Who is JM3

James was born in Atlanta Georgia. He grew up in a family of art enthusiasts and collectors. He has been enamored with visual art as long as he can remember. James' passion for art was sharpened while studying at Bard College in New York. For many years James has been inspired to create art that connects with a new audience of collectors. His art draws influence from the culture of Atlanta and other urban centers including New York City and Los Angeles. Most recently James has garnered attention by completing commissioned artwork in his hometown of Atlanta and residence in New York City.

The intention of James is to give a different view point on how people interpret art or many aspects of life for that matter. His technique includes obtaining visual history of the subject such as images, letters, magazine covers, and song lyrics. James loves paintings but noticed people often glance and obtain a mental image like a camera before moving to the next piece. He wants to create pieces that makes people truly take time to digest the art piece and appreciate the many layers. James assembles the layers in a way that creates mood provoking vibrant art. This process gives his pieces their incredible depth.
